No need to be bored this Heritage month. Future Motor Lease recommends some top virtual events happening this month.

When hard lock-down hit SA at the end of March this year, we all obeyed the rules and stayed at home. We thought the three weeks would fly by and we all did our best to stay busy at home and flatten the curve. However, now that our homes have been spring-cleaned probably more than once and the fantastic colours of Spring have emerged, we’re all keen for a bit more adventure in our lives. Future Motor Lease recommends these virtual events happening in SA this Heritage month to help us have fun and stay safe.

SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge

With hard lock-down being lifted and people choosing to do more outdoor activities on the rise, the chatter on everyone’s lips this month is for the SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge. Anyone from anywhere in SA or even overseas can enter the virtual race. You can run, walk or jog at your own pace and on your own route. Registration is online and welcome packs can be collected from your nearest SPAR store. Entries cost R50 and you can donate any amount to Good Morning Angels, and help them spread a little more sunshine through these dark and difficult times.

Online Paint & Sip – Drake Wolfe’s “Springtime Ode to Van Gogh”

“Wine-not” support one of South Africa’s local artists Drake Wolfe by attending one of the Paint & Sip online events being held on 27 September 2020. Being creative by yourself or with a few friends is a great way to relieve stress and have a bit of fun. You can register online and all art materials will be delivered to your door. Drake will then lead you, step-by-step, to create a masterpiece you can be proud to hang in your newly spring-cleaned house.

South African Book Fair 2020 Virtual Event

Books are a form of escapism. By reading a book you can “virtually” travel anywhere in the world and immerse yourself in a wonderland that is not tainted by Covid19. This year the South African Book fair has chosen to host a jam-packed virtual event so that the wonder of reading remains alive during these very difficult times. This is an event that is suitable for the whole family and tickets cost as little as R50.

Durban International Film Festival

Artists from all different media forms have been hard-hit by Covid19 and the lockdown. The Durban International Film Festival has found an innovative way to promote South Africa’s Film industry by offering the choice of online viewings of the films as well as a drive-in option. There are a number of viewings and the drive-in option tickets cost R105.00.

Music Concert – Prime Circle VOD

Although we all get to live-a-little more at the moment, music concerts are still not allowed. Prime Circle is performing a live-concert that you can watch from the comfort of your own couch. Get your speakers ready and purchase your tickets online through Computicket.

Just because we aren’t quite out of lock-down just yet, does not mean that you have to be bored at home over the Heritage month. With online events now becoming a part of our new-normal, why not try one out and put a new “spring” in your step as you venture through the rest of 2020.
